Avondale Consulting
Tailored Approach

Avondale has experience and expertise across a wide range of strategic issues and industries, and can support your organization in a way that matches your specific needs and budget. Most of our engagements typically fall into one of the four categories below. Click on the diagrams on the right to see how each type of engagement fits into a business's overall management model.

1.   Strategic Decision Support

Sometimes management may be faced with a difficult or complex strategic or operational decision, but is left without the resources, expertise or facts to support an informed decision.   Avondale has extensive experience in supporting management teams with ad hoc analytical support to facilitate decision making, from deciding between strategic alternatives, to prioritizing and sequencing growth initiatives and even to performing M&A due diligence.

2.   Financial & Strategic Fact-base Development

When management discussions revolve mostly around opinions rather than facts and strong disagreements persist, it may be time to consider developing a comprehensive financial and strategic fact-base.   Often such a fact-base can help create alignment within the management team and get everyone on the same page.   Clients repeatedly recognize Avondale's efforts to build a comprehensive fact-base in helping them not only to create consensus within senior management, but also to focus management attention and effort on those opportunities with the highest value impact to the organization.

3.   Integrated Strategy Development

Integrated strategy development projects represent the majority of Avondale's client solutions and typically occur when management decides to review the business and start with a clean slate, which in many cases occurs every three to four years.   Typically these integrated strategy projects involve the following activities: (1) developing and agreeing to an economic and strategic fact-base around the business and its markets; (2) aligning the management team around the business's highest priority issues and opportunities; (3) developing and assessing strategic alternatives for achieving each strategic opportunity; and (4) aligning the organization around executing each strategic initiative.

4.   Corporate Transformations

Whether because of new senior leadership, significant marketplace events or merely a stagnant or declining stock price, sometimes it's worth examining the whole business from top-to-bottom, deciding what markets to be in, where to grow and how to differentially allocate resource, and examining overall corporate management practices.   From developing 100-day action plans for new CEOs to rethinking the overall organization structure and putting in place value-based management processes, Avondale has been involved in several high-level corporate transformations. Our transformational advise spans all aspects of the business including goals, strategy, operations, processes, organizational structure and capabilities, implementation and execution etc., and helps companies get back on the path to value growth.
